Ekweremadu Explains Why Saraki was been Buffeted
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has explained that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was the most persecuted in his capacity as the Senate President in the history of the Country.
He stated this while contributing to the debate marking the end of legislative session on Thursday.
He recalled that the horrendous experience of the Senate President was as a result of his emergence as Senate President against the choice of ‘powers’ that be, which he said, Saraki was been buffeted from all directions.
“Mr Senate President, distinguished colleagues, I commend your resilience despite the fact that you were the most persecuted, being buffeted from all directions,” he said.
Ekweremadu described as unfortunate some people’s refusal to see the patriotism and Statesmanship of Saraki and continue to plot for his downfall, explaining that his leadership was divinely arranged.
He, however, commended the Senate for their understanding that has kept them together in the last one year, particularly with respect to his position as the Deputy Senate President coming from an opposition party.
He solicited the cooperation of all Senators in order to move the nation forward.
