KOGI STATE ELECTION TRIBUNAL VICTORY: WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

The victory of Governor Yahaya Bello at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is a victory for the entire Kogi State. The Governor unequivocally maintained that, he has no opponent and no victor, no vanquish. This in essence goes a long way to confirmed that, Kogi State is blessed with a purposeful and visionary leader.
Be it as it may, while some people are planning to appeal the decisions of the Tribunal, the Governor is concerned with the responsibility to reposition Kogi State in the path of progress and prosperity. This is where the Governor thinks that Kogi State should move to.
To say the least, litigation is capable of causing a huge distraction to good governance. Virtually every facet of the State could be affected negatively. As maintained earlier, the parties to the petitions have the right to appeal the decisions of the Tribunal but information has it that, some of the parties who lost at the Tribunal are actually counting on“settlement/compensation” from the Governor and as it stands, the Governor is not ready to compromise the goodwill of the people on the platter of pedestal and vain demands of politics.
For the Governor, the appeal in whatever form is his least concern. To him, God gives power to whom he will. Thus, the Governor from his body language and strides has moved from the threshold of political litigation to face the serious business of governance in Kogi State.
Moving from the election petition hullabaloo, the Governor is putting his formidable team in place to make sure the good people of Kogi State feel the presence and impact of the government.
The issue of economic crunch is an issue that will automatically give any serious minded individual a sleepless night. The deplorable workers welfares demand urgent attention, there is a huge work to be done in the security sector of the State too. To be frank, all is not well with Kogi State. All these are the concerned of the Governor and he is moving meticulously to bring succor to the State.
It is time to let go of all grievances and contentions and let Kogi State move forward. If for nothing else, leave your comfort zone and take a stroll to the State capital and see the battered faces of the good people of Kogi State, suffering the consequences of what is not their fault.
