Urban Gangeterism; How Buruji Kashamu Settles Rifts Between Rival Cults

For the past few months, residents of Ijebu Igbo and its environs have been sleeping with one eye closed. In fact, no trader dare stays in his shop beyond 8;oopm as rampaging cultists usually unleash terror on the innocent people, cart away their goods and killed scores in the process. The perpetrators of this criminal acts are known in the society as SECURITY MONITOR scoops that the criminal elements are the rusticated students o various tertiary institutions who have resorted to urban gangsterism as a way of life. It was learnts that some of the cultists have never been to the four wall of any tertiary institution but have joined street gangs, brandishing dangerous weapons and constituting nuisance. This menace has sent many young and promising citizens into early grave.

In view of the helpless nature of the security agencies to curb the menace in the area Senator Kashamu Buruji on Sunday 19th June, 2016 at Ijebu Igbo brought the war lords of the various cult groups together. The groups who were invited along side prominent elders in the society gathered at the Omo Ilu Foundation Hall, Ijebu Igbo road, Iru in Ogun State where the Senator representing the area had invited the leaders of the cult groups and brokered a lasting truce among them. Princd Kashamu warned the warring cultists that” peace should be the ultimate goal”.

Security opeatives were involved in order to secure the event and to forestall another unwarranted killings on that day.
The traditional secret society (Ogboni Ibile) were also present to moderate and be sure of compliance among various groups.
The people of Ijebu Igbo and the entire Ijebu Norht could not hide their joy over the peace meeting as they showered encomium on the senator who they described as their messiah

“He is an illustrious son of Ijebu Igbo and we are proud of him. With this singular gesture Prince, Senator Buruji Kashamu has written his name in gold in the minds of peace loving residents of Ijebu” One of the High Chief present at the peace parley told SECURITY MONITOR.
