Bwari softball little league set for central regional tournament in July

Bwari softball little league U-16 is ready to participate at the forthcoming little league softball central regional tournament, which will be held July 24-28 at Netherland.

The Bwari softball little league will be representing the North Central Division 3 in the region tournament which will qualify the team for the world series in Poland, if they have a good outing.

Speaking with the District Administrator, Sunday Oladele said that the Bwari little League were selected from the best players in the north central with 14 players on the team.

He said that if the team win the regional tournament, they would advance to the world series  coming up in August in the USA.

He said that the team paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Bwari, who was made the grand patron of the team, appreciating him for his support.

Oladele, however said that the support of the emir was needed for the players for their visa fee and flight tickets to enable the players participate in the tournament and also connect the league to individuals who can support the team to promote grassroots sport development in the community.

He said that the players would continue with their training and hope to get sponsor for the tournament before the deadline.

Oladele said that the Little League Nigeria is going into  softball and baseball community development in the country, to search and train U-16 players on how to play the game and develop the game in Nigeria
