South-South leaders to Wike: Stop promoting conflict Extol Amaechi, Sylva

Some prominent leaders of the South-South geoโ€“political zone on Tuesday described Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi as a consummate politician and one of the greatest discoveries in the political landscape of the current republic.

โ€œRotimi Amaechi is a man of impeccable characterโ€

The leaders also described Governor Nyesom Wike as a dangerous partner for peace and progress.

The leaders said the non-performance of the Rivers State governor was incontrovertible.

In a statement after a closed-door meeting in Port-Harcourt, the leaders condemned Wike for his alleged careless utterances.

.

They described as mischievous the declaration by Wike that โ€œAmaechi is jealousโ€.

The leaders praised Amaechi for leading the people well, changing the face of Rivers State, putting the infrastructure perfectly in shape, bringing primary healthcare facilities to the doorsteps of the people, showing more than passing interest in sports and taking tourism to sublime state.

โ€œIt is not about sycophancy. It is about saying the obviousโ€

A statement signed by chairperson of the South-South Political Congress (SSPC), Mrs. Ibifuro Tatua, said the leaders commended Amaechi for the unity, stability and overall development of Rivers State.

Specifically, the leaders eulogized Amaechi for promoting and entrenching democratic governance, executing projects which impacted on the lives of the people, making great investment in education, providing leadership to the Governorsโ€™ Forum and strengthening relationship between all sections of the country.

โ€œNyesom Wike cannot match Amaechiโ€™s contributions in Nigeria, particularly Rivers State. Amaechiโ€™s government recorded landmark achievements in information dissemination, local government administration, women affairs, housing and environmentโ€.

โ€œA governor who belittles his age by stooping to tale-telling and spreading the seeds of discord in the state should not be seen as a role model for the younger onesโ€

They urged Wike to stop promoting conflict.

Similarly, the leaders described former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva as an astute politician and reputable administrator.

They praised him for his unassailable character, visionary leadership and selfless service to humanity.

.

The leaders who also acknowledged Sylvaโ€™s role in industrializing Bayelsa State and making it an investorsโ€™ delight praised the ex-governor for putting Bayelsa State in the right footing.

In a congratulatory message on Sylvaโ€™s 53rd birthday anniversary, the leaders commended Sylva for his exceptional performance and contributions to the socio-political and economic developments of Nigeria.

They thanked the ex-Bayelsa governor for impacting positively on the lives of Nigerians.

The leaders while congratulating Sylva and wishing him success in his current and future endeavours urged him to concentrate his energy on ensuring that Bayelsa State, which unfortunately, is today at its lowest ebb largely due to poor leadership, is brought to mainstream politics.

Ending the message, the leaders said โ€œRemain thankful to God. Your bright days are still aheadโ€

Signed
Mrs. Ibifuro Tatua
