PVC-Naija Issues A Strategic Report On Benue 2019 Election
PVC-Naija, a Non-Governmental Political advocacy Organization has described the ongoing electioneering process in Benue State as too pedestrian, asserting that people of the state must focus on issues based campaign rather than divide and rule tactics being orchestrated by some political stakeholders. The group however tagged Governor, Samuel Ortom as a blessing to his people, calling on the good people of the state to give him a second chance.
In a strategic report on Benue State 2019 Governorship election recently issued by the Library and Research Department of PVC-Naija , the group alarmed that Miyeti Allah hired a Pastor to divide Benue Christians ahead of 2019 Elections.
The report, which was signed by the group’s image maker, Wale Abydeen and made available to newsmen in Abuja stated that “APC’s candidate Emmanuel Jime, though a political light weight when placed side by side Gov. Samuel Orton but the people of Benue need to beware of nocturnal attempt by some elements to manipulate the election process”.
The strategic report noted that “Jime’s relationship with the Hausa/Fulani and Federal authority and the tilt of the federal government towards him are advantage to the incumbent Governor and the Benue people must not ignore”.
The report added that “the anti-grazing law, its attendance complications and the exit of His Excellency Samuel Otorm from APC prompted the political gang up against the incumbent governor of Benue State”.
“Another political land mine planted and allegedly hired by Miyeti Allah against Ortom is his brother, Rev Fred Ikyaan, from Gwer Wear Local Govt, Zone B Senatorial Zone, an ordained Pastor of NKST Church. The church was described as the largest population in Benue state, though with no political antecedent and with no support base in any of the communities”.
“Rev. Ikyaan denomination and Christian Networks is been invested to divide the sympathy of the Christian Community which the opposition perceives as Governor Ortoms major political asset ahead of 2019 elections”.
“The strategy put in place by APC and Miyeti Allah is to engage the Hausa Fulani Muslims community and the Christian community as the only way to defeat Governor Ortom. In the Benue debacle, a key factor in the equation is the need for a bridge between this communities and it’s left to be desired to see if this will be deployed to close the gap and bring to birth the Love and Peace conference”.
This is needed to forestall Meyetti Alha’s near war approach to the Benue election in order to bring in a government that will undo the grazing bill. PVC-Naija is of the opinion that an overture is of necessity.
