EDO 2020: THE CHOICE BEFORE NIGERIA & THE CAPE AGENDA

Edo State is fondly called: “The Heartbeat of the Nation.”

The beating of the heart is the mystery that keeps anybody’s system alive.

The current critical condition of our nation is not in doubt.

“Heart wise,” every organ of our existence as a nation seems afflicted and traumatised. If there is any hospital facility beyond the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), that is where we are!

This “heartbeat” (Edo) has successfully pumped life into our nation to reinvigorate it either for good or bad politically, depending on your sentiment.

The two leading candidates in the ongoing Edo State governorship race interestingly represents the ideology of the Edo people.

Osagie Ize-Iyamu founded the political movement that abolished godfatherism, the grace group,  came to town with the mantra “no man is God” and threw up the election of Adams Aliyu Oshiomole.

The demystifying of a rising “petit” Goliath on our national political landscape in 2020 is a phenomenon that we owe to the ideology of the indigenous people of Edo State championed by Obaseki.

Vote buying was pumped up to a new height at this “heartbeat” during her last governorship election in 2016 by inordinate politicians.

The two formidable political parties – APC and PDP- allegedly out bid each other in the vote buying market.

Though Edo people are too sophisticated to be easily fooled through vote buying in any election,  the option of the game is a serious threat to our democracy.

The need for a new consciousness on the values of vote beckons at us in Edo 2020.

The people need to understand that a new Nigeria will only be driven by value for votes as our tenet of democracy and good governance.

This is the consciousness that the CAPE is championing.

Neither candidate can be tied to the ideology of the political party’s presenting them.

All Nigerians must therefore fan the resilience spirits of Edo indigenous people by promoting their ideology for justice and equality that has seen the defeat of godfatherism again and again to deliver our nation from bad leadership.

CAPE is ready to engender a new consciousness of value for votes from the “heartbeat” through our model on family campaign, to free the streets of possible conflicts and keep tenets of social distancing for safety of our people in COVID 19.

CAPE is a project of Apostolic Round Table with the blessing of our Father, Rev Dr Felix Omobude, President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. The buy in of CAN in Edo State was sought, we testify of the warm embrace of Daddy Oriname Oyonude Kure, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria Edo State.

Strategic operational template is provided by Project Victory Call Initiative, AKA PVC-NAIJA, Nigeria foremost Political Education and Advocacy Organization.

This is the first time a demographic template will be exclusively targeted at our communities through family campaigns.

CAPE is taken it away from the streets, to where it matters; homes, the smallest unit of human communities. Let’s go home!

For us, Edo 2020 is a critical resuscitation of our democracy as the government of the people, by the people and for the people ahead of 2023.
