EDO 2020: OUR OPPORTUNITY TO RE-INVENT POLITICS BY BOLAJI AKINYEMI

A friend once said to me, this is politics! By this, he meant vision doesn’t count, manifestos need not manifest, and the electorates are inconsequential.

Armed with lies and propaganda, with the backing of godfather and street boys on his side he was good to go.

If this is politics, we as men of God and our members as Christians mustn’t play it their ways. Our illumination as the light of the world that Christ said that we are; is needed!

He lost that election with so much money spent in 2015, his opponent out did him in the dirty rudiments of their game.

In their style Electorates are the loser; we will never benefit from leadership enthroned through rigging and political hooliganism, they owed the boys who snatched ballot boxes and not those who waited patiently in sun and and drizzles whichever the weather serves on election day.

But in 2019 he stood for righteousness, shone Christ light, took side with the electorates, valued their votes and the gave it to him.

His premium on a peaceful process paid off. He saw the hands of The Prince of peace, upon whose shoulders God promised to placed government productively for good governance. He coasted to Victory; winnig against all odds and rigging mechanisms of his opponents who deployed central might and power.

The people however valued their votes, stood by it, saw through the process until it was counted and announced, they won and he was declared. His representation in the Senate of his people is absolute! With him through the people God proved he’s the Almighty, mightier than all might.

We are not in Edo for partisan politics nor their brand of politics. We are here because we are sent!
