ENDSARS: I’m Sorry For My Posts’, Says Popular Social Media User In Lagos

REJOINDER: Unreserved Apology For My Posts In The Social Media, But I Was Never A Party To The Mayhem On Lagos Island.

I read with a great shock, disbelief and regret as my attention was drawn to series of allegations making the rounds on the whole of Lagos Island that I, Shakiru Mobolaji Fashina, a descendant of Omo Onile Gbenle and Fashina lo Oni Okepopo of Lagos, was involved in the atrocity and sacrilege which befell my ancestral home, my heritage and culture in the destruction of public properties, especially the invasion of the palace of OLOWO EKO OBA RILWAN OSUOLALE AREMU AKIOLU 1, the paramount ruler of Lagos State and the premier local government in Nigeria, Lagos Island Local Government  on Wednesday, 24th October, 2020.

Wednesday incident, for me, was primitive and a very sad event in my entire history particularly as my name was erroneously linked with this event. For the past 38 years of my existence on this earth, I have never and will never engage in any form of violence. I was born in Lagos Island and there I have spent almost my entire life so far. I will never be a party to any form of sacrilege on the Iga Idugaran. Whoever was involved in this dastardly act and planned to implicate me, shall never know peace in his life.

However, today, I take responsibility for my unguided and emotional utterances, posted on the social media which I totally concord that were uncalled for. Hence, majority of my people, family members, relatives, friends, fans, politicians, elders in the community and so on have frowned at . For this, I tender my unreserved apology.

I have been an advocate of good governance and good image of my heritage (EKO MI). At no time, did I ever connive with anybody or engage in any shady deals to bring down the integrity and cultural-values of my heritage (EKO MI) and sovereignty of my dear state.

Furthermore, for prosperity and clarity, the protest which was scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 24th October, 2020 was cancelled when it was noticed that it would be hijacked by  hoodlums and thugs.

I therefore, unequivocally tender my apology and seek forgiveness for the pain I might have caused the good people of state. It was not intended. And for the umpteenth time, I knew nothing about the invasion of my forefathers’ home (IGA IDUGANRAN) invasion of OBA’S PALACE AND LAGOS ISLAND LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

There has been a cordial relationship between me and Lagos Island local government, as the grass root closest to the people under the leadership of the Honourable Executive Chairman, Prince Tijani Adetoyose Olusi and all his supervisors, Councillors, Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Chairman, Council manager and all the entire Staffers. I am with you at this critical period. Once again, I say I am sorry.
