FCT Councils Poll: Olawepo-Hashim Hails Residents, INEC, Police, Others Over Peaceful Conduct
A chieftain of ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and former presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police Force for conducting a peaceful, free and fair election.
The frontline politician also expressed joy for voting for his chosen Chairmanship and counselorship candidates in the election.
In a statement on his social media handle on Facebook @GbengaHashim, he said, “I have performed my civic duty”
According to him, “I voted for my chosen Councilorship and chairmanship candidate at 21 polling units, Usuma ward Bwari Area Council election”.
Mr Hashim also expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the electorate, INEC and police.
He noted that, “Glory to God it is peaceful, Parties and voters conducting themselves well, INEC officials, Police doing their jobs, this is the way of Democracy”
He expressed optimism about his party’s chances of winning the election, saying, “we pray to God for a good outcome”
