IGLSA Holds Governance and Leadership Mentoring Clinic in Abuja

By Wale Abydeen/ILORIN/ The Institute for Governance and Leadership Studies in Africa, IGLSA will on Friday, 5 December, 2022 assemble young Nigerians and emerging leaders for mentoring at the Nigeria Army Resource Centre in Abuja.

The program tagged: Emerging Leaders, Governance and Leadership Mentoring Clinic is expected to Develop a critical mass of Nigerian Youth Leaders with the capacity for, and skills in leadership and governance.

The Clinic will also establish an Alumni structure of the Mentees of the program with a view to providing a national platform for sustainability, mutual reinforcement and attracting attention to issues of governance and leadership.

The institute’s Director-General, Lanre Adebayo, PhD in a statement made available to SECURITY MONITOR added that the clinic will encourage greater investments and focus on leadership and governance by both the government and the non-state sector.

‘It will enhance the interest of Nigerian Leaders through volunteering to serve as mentors and or support the project by providing necessary funding”, Dr Adebayo noted, stressing further that the program will come to an end on 7th December, 2022 with a colourful award and convocation ceremony.

Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Executive Governor of Adamawa State is expected to deliver Keynote address while Major Gen. K.A Role (Rtd)         will deliver a special presentation on the theme: Democracy, Development and National Security.

The opening ceremony will also feature Goodwill Messages from the National Planning Commission, United Nations Development Program, The European Union, The National Defense College, Abuja, National Youth Council of Nigeria and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA)
