IKORODU DIVISION RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT GROUP (IDRDG) ROLLS OUT ITS ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR 2023

At the first monthly meeting of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) held on Sunday, January 15th, 2023 at Gbadamosi Conference Room, Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, Lagos State, the Chairman of the Group, Senator Adeseye Kingsley Ogunlewe rolls out the agenda of the IDRDG for the year 2023 as he presented award of excellence to the Best Schools and Best Students in Ikorodu Division in the Mathematics Competition organised by the Group on Wednesday, 23rd November 2022, where twenty eight (28) Senior Secondary Schools of the Division participated.

Awards were presented to:
Best Schools
1st Position – Ayangburen Senior High School, Ikorodu
2nd Position – Zumuratul-Islamiyyah Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo
3rd Position – Abule-Eko Community Senior Grammar School, Ijede

Best Students
1st – Oyebade Testimony E. – Elepe Community High School, Elepe
2nd – Iyibo Elizabeth – Abule-Eko Community Senior Grammar School, Ijede
2nd – Emmanuel Caleb O. – Zumuratul-Islamiyyah Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo

The Chairman, Senator Adeseye Kingsley Ogunlewe in his address congratulated the students and urged them to steer clear of social vices, keeping the flag flying. He added that they could achieve success in all their subjects once they are committed to their studies.

In the same vein, the Principals and Teachers were applauded for their efforts in ensuring that the students performed well in the competition, they were also implored not to relent in contributing to the Nation building.
Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe further stated that the community should contribute their quota towards the growth and development of education in the Division, adding that the development of education should not be left on the shoulder of the State Government alone.
The Chairman of Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ikorodu Division Chapter, Mrs. Afusat Onibipe, on behalf of the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) Education District II, Principals, Teachers and students appreciated the Group for its commitment to the development of human resources, school infrastructures and provision of teaching instructional materials to the schools in the Division. She added that IDRDG’s kind gesture would serve as a wake-up call to other bodies in the Division to emulate.
The Chairman, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, as he unveiled the agenda, said that the singular objective of the IDRDG is to contribute to the development of human capital of the Ikorodu Division. He implored all members of the Group not to be tired and clamoured for the support of well-meaning individuals, notable families and corporate organisations to join hands with the IDRDG in order to achieve its desired development for the people of Ikorodu Division.
He therefore rolled out the activities of the Group for the year 2023 and highlighted the following:
Presentation of JAMB Forms to indigent students in Senior Secondary Schools (SSS 3) in Ikorodu Division.
Presentation of Scholarship/Bursary Award to indigent undergraduate students in Universities in Nigeria from Ikorodu Division.
Organisation of Workshop on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education for Teachers of Senior Secondary Schools in Ikorodu Division.
Organisation of 21st Prof. A. A. Adegbola Memorial Lecture.
Induction of notable sons and daughters of Ikorodu Division into the Hall of Fame.
He further stated that the Group is set to carry out the fore-mentioned for the year and requested for the continued support of members to achieve the tasks ahead.
