BOAT CAPSIZED AT POWERLINE, IKOYI-LINK BRIDGE, IKOYI

By Olayiwola Ibrahim // Following a distress call received by LASWA on a boat incident scene, the Agency discovered that a boat conveying 17 seventeen passengers from sandfil heading to Ikorodu had capsized at the aforementioned location.
Further investigation gathered from the Lagos State Waterways Authority LASWA officials revealed that the driver of the boat rammed into a high tension pole flooded by water which led to the unfinished incident.
Unfortunately, two adults lost their lives involving a male and a female while other 15, passenger were unharmed.
The body of an adult female was retrieved from the water and subsequently transported from the incident scene to LASWA head office at Falomo before she was confirmed dead by the LRU paramedics.
The adult female remains have been bagged and await the arrival of the SEHMU officials.
While the search for the body of the adult male is ongoing.
The Agency responders alongside LRU Paramedics, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Waterways Authority and Nigeria Police Force were joint responders at the incident scene.
