SUNU HEALTH NIGERIA ADVOCATES UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE ON WORLD HEALTH DAY

According to the WHO Council on the Economics of Health for All, a minimum of 140 countries acknowledges health as a fundamental human right enshrined within their constitutions.

However, despite this recognition, many nations fail to enact and enforce legislation guaranteeing their citizens access to healthcare services.

Consequently, it underscores the reality that in 2021, at least 4.5 billion individuals, representing over half of the global population, lacked comprehensive coverage of essential health services.

In response to these challenges, and in accordance with annual tradition, the global community commemorates World Health Day on April 7th, 2024. This year’s theme, My Health, My Right, resonates as a poignant reminder for individuals worldwide to prioritize their health and assert their entitlement to quality healthcare services.
