Chitipa United Secures TNM Super League Status in Thrilling Finale

In a heart-stopping conclusion to the TNM Super League season, Chitipa United has miraculously avoided relegation, thanks to a hard-fought 3-0 victory over already-relegated Baka City at Karonga Stadium.

The triumph, courtesy of goals from Trouble Kajani, Ken Mlenga, and Francis Nyirenda, ensured Chitipa United’s survival in the top-flight league, finishing with 29 points from 30 matches.

The team’s superior goal difference over FOMO FC proved crucial in securing their spot.

Chitipa United’s head coach, Christopher Nyambose, exhaled a sigh of relief post-match, expressing his gratitude and acknowledging the role of Karonga United in their survival.

“We were anxious, not because of Baka City, but due to other teams playing on their home turf. The result in Mulanje has saved us, and we’re indebted to Karonga United for their role in our survival.”

Meanwhile, FOMO FC and Bangwe All Stars were not as fortunate, bidding farewell to the TNM Super League after failing to secure victories in their final matches.

Bangwe All Stars suffered a 1-4 defeat at the hands of Creck Sporting Club, while FOMO FC’s fate was sealed despite Chitipa United’s survival.

The Chitipa United faithful, who had gathered in large numbers to cheer on their team, erupted in jubilation upon the final whistle.
