A VISIT TO TPI MEDIA GURU BY JAMES AJIBADE AND ALIYU ADAMU ALIYU

By Olayiwola Ibrahim // On November 26, 2024, we had the privilege of visiting The Progressive Institute TPI, in Abuja, a prominent institution founded by the All Progressives Congress APC, under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Our host in person of Mr. Olawale Abideen, he’s the esteemed Head of Media and Information at TPI, who also serves as the CEO of Security Monitor, a renowned platform dedicated to publishing security news and addressing critical security issues.

Accompanied by Mr. Adamu Aliyu, the Director of Administration and Public Relations at Applied Criminology Network International Academy, we engaged in high-level strategic discussions centered on security and youth empowerment in Nigeria.

Our host shared his remarkable journey, illustrating how keen observation and practical implementation of ideas derived from watching the news enabled him to achieve significant milestones, including purchasing his first car.

He emphasized the value of sacrifices, consistency, and leveraging information to create opportunities, inspiring us to adopt a proactive and strategic mindset.

He underscored the critical importance of collaboration and partnerships in addressing contemporary challenges.

By pooling resources and expertise, organizations and individuals can achieve far reaching impacts, particularly in areas of security and development.

A major takeaway from the meeting was the agreement to establish security clubs in schools and higher institutions across Nigeria.

This initiative aims to instill a culture of safety, awareness, and responsibility among young people, contributing significantly to the reduction of criminal activities in our communities.

In an encouraging turn, we were offered the opportunity to contribute as investigative journalists under Security Monitor.

This role aligns seamlessly with our mission to enhance security discourse and promote actionable solutions.

The visit was not only enlightening but also inspiring, as we were overwhelmed by our host’s depth of experience, expertise, and vision for a more secure and empowered Nigeria.

Mr. Aliyu and I reaffirmed our commitment to collaborate and put forth our best efforts to drive impactful initiatives that advance national development.

This engagement marked the beginning of a transformative partnership, with promising prospects for empowering youths, enhancing security, and fostering sustainable growth across Nigeria.
