MUTHARIKA SETS SIGHTS ON CHAKWERA TO NIGHT
By Michael Martin//MALAWI
Former President and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader Peter Mutharika is scheduled to address the nation this evening, tackling various pressing issues affecting Malawi.
In statement signed by party spokesperson Shadric Namalomba, Mutharika’s address will cover recent attacks on DPP supporters in Lilongwe and the country’s economic affairs.
The main focus of Mutharika’s message, however, will be directed at President Lazarus Chakwera, who also serves as the president of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
This address is likely to be a significant event, given the current political climate in Malawi.
Mutharika’s speech may also touch on the country’s economic challenges, such as inflation, unemployment, and poverty.
As the former President, Mutharika has experience in addressing these issues, having previously implemented policies aimed at stabilizing the economy and promoting growth.
It is worth noting that Mutharika has been an outspoken critic of the current administration, and his address may include criticisms of President Chakwera’s policies and handling of the economy.
The address is expected to be broadcast on local media outlets, and many Malawians will be tuning in to hear Mutharika’s thoughts on the state of the nation.
