NSUK Strenghthens Ties With Polish Embassy in Nigeria

In a bold move to further consolidate the cordial relationship between the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and the Polish Embassy in Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Fellow; UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFP, on Friday 14th February 2025, led some management staff of the University to congratulate and welcome the new Polish Ambassador to Nigeria His Excellency Michaĺ Cygan.

 

The Vice-Chancellor in her remarks, lauded the existing relationship between the Embassy and NSUK which she said preceded her administration and has been fruitful and beneficial to the two Institutions. She highlighted mutual collaborations to include Memorandum of Understanding between NSUK and Polish Universities, granting of Eramus + scholarships to staff and students of the University and also exchange of staff between the University which has seen to the engagement of renowned Professor of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Pawel Boski to NSUK on contract as an academic staff.

 

Responding, the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Michaĺ Cygan appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and her team for the visit noting that the relationship between Poland and NSUK will be further strengthened to ensure that the University maximises on the potentials that exist for her. He also used the opportunity of the visit to express his appreciation to the management of the University for naming the first Institute of European Studies in Nigeria after the famous Polish Professor, Brunon Holyst.

 

Among personalities who witnessed the visit was the Registrar of the University, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, the Director of the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, Professor Andrew Zamani, Professor Pawel Boski, the Director of Linkages and International Cooperation, Dr. K’tso Nghargbu, Deputy Director, Brunon Holyst Institute for European Studies, Dr. Lois Abu, and the Acting Information and Protocol Officer of the University, Jaafar Abdullahi.
