By Olayiwola Ibrahim // The Bamẹẹkọ of Ibadanland, Oloye Saheed Oladele, has urged Nigerian youth to embrace technological innovations and actively participate in the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to secure a prosperous future.
He made this call at the 32nd Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the University of Ibadan Muslim Community, where he delivered a thought-provoking address on the intersection of technology, Islamic values, and leadership.
The event featured a keynote lecture by Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinuomo, a distinguished professor of Mechatronic Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and Vice-Chancellor of Summit University, Offa.
Professor Aibinuomo spoke on the theme Technological Innovations and Islamic Values, emphasizing that AI is not a threat but a tool for strengthening faith, creating employment opportunities, and expanding industries.
Oloye Saheed Oladele, who is also the founder of Erudite Millennium Ltd (EML), stressed the importance of young Nigerians blending with modern innovations and preparing for the future of AI-driven industries.
He emphasized that technology should be embraced, not feared, as it holds immense potential for economic and social development.
Our youth must not shy away from new innovations. AI will not render them useless but will open doors to countless opportunities.
They must equip themselves with relevant skills to remain competitive in the global landscape, he said.
As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, Oladele used the platform to advocate for the election of competent and visionary leaders.
He backed his message with references from the Qur’an and Hadith, urging citizens to vote for leaders who will uplift, rather than oppress, the people.
The Ramadan lecture drew an array of dignitaries, including Oloye Sarafa Alli, Ekarun Olubadan of Ibadanland Mogaji Gbolagade Moshood Akere, President of the Ibadan Distinguished Royal Club, Mogaji Ejilola Sefiu; and Mogaji Adebola of Onikẹkẹ Compound.
Oladele’s speech was well-received by the audience, with one lady in attendance describing him as too intelligent and emphasizing that he is fit to occupy the seat of the Governor of Oyo State, where he can transform his unique knowledge into reality.
As a gubernatorial aspirant in the 2027 Oyo State election, Oladele’s message of innovation, ethical leadership, and youth empowerment resonates with his vision for the state’s future.
With his track record of integrity and commitment to community development, Oladele is confident that he possesses the necessary skills and experience to transform Oyo State.
