Agbaje, who has been vocal about alleged corruption and mismanagement within the local government, shared the police summon letter on his Facebook page, calling on Nigerians to come to his aid as he faces threats to his life.

He had earlier accused Animashaun of mismanaging local government funds and allegedly not possessing an original WAEC certificate. In a statement posted online, he claimed that several youths had been arrested and bailed in recent weeks for expressing their opinions on social media regarding governance issues in Epe.

“I have been joining my voice to speak out against the alleged oppressions, sale of government properties, forced land grabbing, and certificate forgery by the Chairman of Epe Local Government. As a fundamental human right, I am exercising my freedom of speech to hold our leaders accountable,” Agbaje wrote.

According to him, the police summons, which cites allegations of cyberbullying and conspiracy, is an attempt to silence his reporting. However, he remains steadfast in his mission for justice.

“Silencing dissenting voices won’t solve the problems plaguing our community. We must stand together to fight for our rights and resources. The struggle for justice and equality continues, and we won’t back down,” he added.

The situation has sparked concern among activists and media professionals, with many calling for press freedom and protection for journalists reporting on corruption.
