NATIONAL POLICE DAY 2: ABIA CP ENGAGES KEY STAKEHOLDERS, PROMOTES HEALTH AWARENESS, STRENGTHENS TRUST, TRANSPARENCY AND COLLABORATION

In commemoration of the National Police Day, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, convened a stakeholders’ conference at the State headquarters Umuahia. In attendance were the Chairman Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Eze Linus Nto Mba, Chairman Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Chief Iheanyi Igboanulam, Chairperson POWA, Mrs Okoro Ihuoma, leaders of the Muslim community in the state, representatives of Late Police Officers Wives Association (LAPOWA), PWA, transport unions, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Christain Association of Nigeria (CAN), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cooperative Union Umuahia, and others.
As part of the event, attendees participated in physical health check-up and engaged in light fitness exercises after which free drugs were distributed to the stakeholders. ACP Emelike Chinenye, the O/C Medical, delivered a health talk, emphasizing the importance of regular check-up, monitoring vital signs, maintaining a balanced diet, and staying physically active.
The Commissioner of Police in his address emphasized the significance of the National Police Day celebration in causing public awareness about the Police, and strengthening police-community relations. He highlighted the need for enhanced collaboration between the police and the public to nip crime at the bud, stressing that community partnership is essential for identifying and addressing security challenges.
He also welcomed constructive feedback to improve service delivery, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to public safety.
