Dr. Adeniji, a respected administrator and grassroots politician from Ife Central, Osun State, was abducted under yet-to-be-disclosed circumstances.
Sources within the party confirmed that negotiations with the kidnappers led to the eventual payment of a ransom totaling N50 million. However, to the horror of his family and colleagues, his lifeless body was discovered days after the payment was made.
In a somber press release signed by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party described Adeniji as a man of integrity, leadership, and service. He was eulogized as a former Assistant Registrar at Obafemi Awolowo University and a former Chairman of Ife Local Government, who later rose to the position of Director of Administration at the APC National Secretariat.
The party announced a temporary closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja until Monday, April 14, as a mark of respect. A condolence register has also been opened in his honor.
“This is a devastating loss. Dr. Adeniji was not only a pillar in the party’s administrative structure but a true servant of the people,” the statement read. “We pray Almighty Allah grants him Jannatul Firdaus.”
