REMEMBRANCE: CHRSJ HOLDS 41 DAYS FRIDAU PRAYER FOR IT’S LATE CHAIRMAN, SULAIMAN, ANNOUNCES RELOCATION OF ITS NATIONAL SECRETARIAT TO IBADAN

By Olayiwola Ibrahim // A human rights organization,the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice( CHRSJ) has organized the 41 days Islamic Fidau Prayer for its late first Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman in Ibadan,Oyo State on Tuesday.
The Fidau prayer which was held at the Ifesowapo Mosque,Ajia,Zone 2,Wakajaye,Ibadan led by Mallam Abdullahi Abdulrafiu,adding that the members and other dignitaries that graced the prayer session were led by the rights group Deputy General Secretary(DGS), Comrade Abiola Abdulganiy(Dove).
While extoling the leadership qualities of the late human rights activist,Mallam Abdulrafiu described Comrade Sulaiman as a lover of God and trust worthy leader that should be emulated by the all and sundry,saying the late rights activist was an example of Godly leader while on earth.
Abdulrafiu ,then, prayed to God Almighty to continue repose the soul of Comrade Sulaiman by enlarging his grave to continue rest in power as the friends,colleagues, family members and associates take solace in his good works and contribution to humanity while on earth,seeking the God eyes on the immediate and extended families left behind by the late pro-democracy activist
This was contained in a signed statement by the CHRSJ’s Assistant General Secretary(AGS),Pastor Micheal Agassi after the Fidau prayer and copies were made available to newsmen on Tuesday,disclosed that the Fidau prayer was in order because the group’s late Chairman was true believer of Islamic doctorine and follower of Prophet Muhammed(SAW).
Pastor Agassi also described its late Executive Chairman as a man of the masses and thorough bred social crusader who learnt the art of activism at the feat of late legal luminary,Chief Gani Fawehinmi,SAN,adding that Comrade Sulaiman could not be easy to be forgotten within the human rights community in Nigeria and particulary, in the Southwestern Nigeria.
Agassi further stressed that the rights group which was still mourning the mysterious death of its Chairman, linked his death to the contest for the Stool of Alawo of Awo Chieftaincy Obaship in Awo,the heaquarters of Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State,disclosing that it has declared sixty(60) days mourning for its late leader which made the activities of rights group to be skeletal in nature during the period of mourning.

Pastor Agassi announced the
relocation of the rights group National Secretariat from Lagos State to Ibadan in Oyo State,stating that the relocation of its National Secretariat became imperative for efficiency in order to ensure the group moved to the greater height of achieving its aims and objectives with its mission to seek redress of any human rights violation against Nigeria masses in any land and promotion of principles,ideals and norms of democracy as the best form of government in any clime of the world.
The statement also stated that the former Lagos National Secretariat would be using as Annex office for prompt receiving of correspondences and other sundary issues at shore of former Nigeria’s capital.
The CHRSJ Chief further explained in the statement that the rights group would ensure the immortalization of its late leader as a way to promote his ideals,philosophies and contribution to the human rights community in Nigeria and as well as her current nurturing democracy in Nigeria.
The statement further added that the organization would write the various establishment and partners on the changes of the National Secretariat of the rights organization,especially,men of the fourth estate of the realm,adding that the line of activities of the organization would be made public after the sixty(60) days of mourning of its late leader,Comrade Sulaiman.
It would be recalled that CHRSJ’s first Executive Chairman,late Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman,involved in alone ghastly motor accident that occurred at the Abeokuta/Shagamu axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday, the 4th day of March,2025.
