Tinubu Will Be Praised If... -Senator Shehu Sani

Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has said that President Bola Tinubu will continue to face public disapproval until the effects of his policies begin to bring positive change in Nigeria.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Sani noted that Tinubu is fully aware that the path he has chosen will make him unpopular for now.

However, he believes the president is focused more on long-term goals than short-term praise.

Sani shared a personal experience from his time in the National Assembly, recalling how he was met with strong opposition from fellow senators in the North when he spoke out against rising insecurity in the region.

He pointed out that many people expected lawmakers to remain silent simply because the president at the time was from their part of the country.

According to Sani, Tinubu is in a similar situation. He must decide between doing what is popular and doing what is right for the country’s future.

He emphasized that Tinubu’s current lack of popularity is tied to the hardship people are facing, but once the reforms begin to show clear results, public opinion may shift in his favor.
