No Minister Has Been Sacked. Security Agencies Must Move Against Fake news Website – Presidency

By James Ajibade// The Special Adviser to the President on Media Mr Bayo Onanuga has debunked news making the rounds that the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked three ministers from his cabinet. The Special Adviser also advised security agencies to go after those spreading and manufacturing fake news.

 

“Security agencies must urgently take action against fake news websites and platforms and the purveyors who fail to check the authenticity of the stories and make them go viral,”

Onanuga stated while debunking the news that the Minister of Power , Adelabu , Minister of Defence,Badaru and Minister of State for Defence Matawale have been given the Red Card.

Onanuga further states ,

“Press freedom and freedom of speech will not exist when some people can wake up and concoct their news and narratives without regard for truth. Fake news is simply licentiousness and must be criminalised.”
