By Olayiwola Ibrahim / Lagos // The Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, has marked his first year in office with notable achievements.

According to Akerele, a total of 14,087 suspects were arrested across various black spots in Lagos, including Oshodi, Mushin, and Ikoyi, among others.

In a key achievements, 1,287 suspects were released after thorough screening, 12,999 suspects were arraigned, leading to a marked reduction in criminal activities, 1,019 vehicles were impounded from key areas like Victoria Island and Ikeja

While speaking on commitment to excellence, Akerele reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to integrity, operational excellence, public safety, and best practices under his leadership.

He sought media support for the smooth operation of the agency, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and constructive coverage.

The event, which coincided with Akerele’s first anniversary in office, provided an opportunity for reflection and appreciation.

Akerele expressed gratitude to the media for their support and urged them to continue their balanced and constructive coverage of the agency’s work.
