The recent passing of Mrs. Adebimpe Akintola, Council Manager of Coker Aguda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has sent shockwaves through the Lagos State Government and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This tragic event marks the fifth loss of a female council official within a span of two months, raising concerns about the underlying causes of these untimely deaths.

The string of losses among female council officials in Lagos State APC is alarming.

Since the July 27, 2025, inauguration of the current local administration, several female council officials have passed away under mysterious circumstances.

The deaths of Mrs. Oluwakemi Rufai, Mrs. Zainab Shotayo, Princess Oluremi Ajose, and Mrs. Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan have left the community in grief and sparked questions about the potential causes of these tragedies.

As the Lagos State APC mourns the loss of another dedicated public servant, Adebimpe Akintola, of Coker Aguda LCDA, it is imperative for the party leaders and government officials to investigate the underlying causes of these tragic events.

The repeated loss of female council officials in quick succession demands a thorough examination of potential contributing factors, including stress, workload, and working conditions.

In a call to action, Olayiwola enjoined the APC and the Lagos State Government must take proactive measures to ensure the well-being and safety of their officials. This includes.

1. Conducting a thorough investigation into the causes of these tragic events.

2. Providing support and resources to mitigate stress and workload.

3. Fostering a healthy work environment that prioritizes officials’ well-being.

In light of this recent tragic deaths of five councilor in Lagos State, i hereby demand that the autopsy on all the deceased to determine the exact cause of their deaths.

The alarming rate at which these officials have passed away under mysterious circumstances raises serious alarm and concerns that warrant a detailed investigation.

The autopsy results will help to determine the cause of the death, identify potential contributing factors and also provide closure for the families and colleagues.

I urge the Lagos State Government and relevant authorities to take immediate action to investigate these tragic events and ensure that justice is served.

Ibrahim said the loss of these dedicated public servants is a reminder of the importance of prioritizing their well-being and safety.

The Lagos State APC and government must take immediate action to address these concerns and prevent future tragedies.
