In furtherance of these strategic objectives, operatives of the Command’s Special Investigation Squad (popularly known as the Scorpion Squad), while on routine patrol within the New Stadium Area, Araromi, Akure, intercepted one Salisu Mohammed ‘M’, aged 25. The patrol team observed the suspect acting suspiciously and, upon searching him, discovered that he was concealing several valuable items—including miter saws, a metal cut-off saw, and circular saws, all worth thousands of naira—inside a sack.

Building upon this initial discovery, preliminary interrogation was immediately conducted. The suspect failed to provide any credible account of ownership or indicate the legitimate source of the items. He further claimed to have purchased the tools—collectively valued in millions of naira—under the guise of condemned iron. This inconsistent explanation heightened suspicion regarding the true origin of the recovered equipment.

Consequently, all exhibits have been secured for safekeeping, and the suspect is presently in custody, assisting investigators with ongoing inquiries.
