By Morris Nor// Ijebu-Igbo – In a significant political realignment, Honourable Rasheed Kashamu, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmaker, who represents Ijebu North State Constituency 1 (Ijebu Igbo), is the son of the late political figure and former Senator, Prince Buruji Kashamu.

The move, confirmed by party officials earlier today, signals a major shift in the political landscape of Ogun State. Hon. Kashamu was previously a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the political structure he inherited from his late father.

While full details of the defection are still emerging, sources suggest the move was finalized at a meeting with state APC leadership. This development is expected to bolster the ruling party’s strength in the Ijebu North region ahead of future elections.

When reached for a brief comment, Hon. Kashamu stated, “This is a necessary step for the continued progress of my constituency and in line with the aspirations of our people.”
