ZONE 7 FLAGS OFF PROMOTION ASSESSMENT FOR INSPECTORS
By Morris Nor// The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+), has officially commenced the Departmental Selection Board (DSB) exercise for the promotion of inspectors in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM.
Speaking at the opening session of the assessment held at the Zonal Headquarters, the AIG urged all participating inspectors from FCT and Niger Commands to approach the exercise with dedication, discipline, and a high sense of responsibility. He highlighted that the promotion process remains a vital pathway for career advancement in the Force and assured candidates that the Zone is committed to conducting it with fairness, integrity, and strict adherence to established procedures.
AIG Olaiya reaffirmed the IGP’s firm stance against corruption and warned that any attempt at extortion, inducement, or compromise of the process would attract decisive disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the rules of the Nigeria Police Force. He restated that the Force will not tolerate any unprofessional conduct capable of undermining the credibility of the exercise.
The AIG also appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for prioritizing transparency and merit in the Force’s promotion system, noting that such reforms continue to enhance professionalism and motivate officers across all ranks.
Zone 7 remains steadfast in promoting excellence, accountability, and ethical standards in all its operations.
