YULETIDE: CP NAZIRU ABDULMAJID HOLDS STRATEGIC MEETING WITH DPOs AND HODs, ORDERS MASSIVE SECURITY DEPLOYMENT, WARNS AGAINST USE OF FIREWORKS
The Commissioner of Police Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid psc, today 22nd December 2025, held a strategic security meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Departments (HODs) as part of proactive measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch free Christmas and New Year celebrations across the state.
2. During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police directed the comprehensive deployment of police personnel and assets to strategic locations, including places of worship, recreational centres, markets, major highways, motor parks, and other public spaces. He further ordered the effective positioning of officers from the Central Motor Traffic Division (CMTD) to ensure smooth flow of traffic, crowd control, and prompt response to any emergency concern during the festive period.
3. CP Naziru Abdulmajid also warned against the use of fireworks and knockouts, reiterating that the existing ban remains in force, as their misuse poses serious safety and security risks and could trigger unnecessary panic among residents. He emphasized zero tolerance for any act capable of undermining public peace and directed all DPOs to intensify patrols, intelligence gathering, and community engagement within their respective Areas of Responsibility.
4. The Commissioner reassured the good people of Borno State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property throughout the Yuletide season and beyond. He urged members of the public to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via designated emergency lines.
