Civil Defence Prosecutes Cases Of Rape, Other Offences
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, prosecuted 125 cases of rape, vandalism, theft murder and other civil and criminal offences in the outgoing year.
The Jigawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the command’s achievements and challenges in 2025.
He stated that the command has become more proactive in crime prevention, leading to a reduction in criminal cases compared to 2024.
Mr Ingawa added that during the year under review, the command trained over 9,000 private guards involved in school security and the protection of other public and private facilities.
The command also aborted more than 30 attempted acts of vandalism targeting power lines, water supply facilities and other public infrastructure, resulting in numerous recoveries.
He noted that the successes achieved during the year were made possible through collaboration with other sister security agencies, as well as support from the general public.
