Wanderers secure future of key midfield trio with contract extensions

Mighty Wanderers FC have moved swiftly to safeguard the core of their squad following a successful TNM Super League campaign by extending contracts for three influential midfielders.
The newly crowned league champions confirmed the developments through official club communications, signaling their intent to build long term stability and sustained success.
At the center of the announcements is promising defensive midfielder Daniel Kudonto Jnr, whose contract has been extended until December 2028.
The new deal comes a year earlier than expected, as Kudonto’s previous contract was set to expire in December 2026, highlighting the club’s confidence in his progress.
Kudonto has been instrumental in Wanderers’ title winning season, playing a vital role in ending the club’s eight-year wait for the league championship.
His rise has been impressive, having earned promotion from the Wanderers Reserve side to the senior team in 2024.
Before joining Wanderers, Kudonto developed his game at Green Hawks and later featured for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Under-20 team, gaining valuable experience at competitive levels.
Wanderers have also secured the services of Mphatso Kamanga, who will remain at the club for the next 36 months, keeping him at Lali Lubani until December 2028.
Kamanga joined the nomads from Karonga United in December 2022 and has since grown into a reliable midfield presence in the blue jersey.
Another major boost comes with the contract extension of Isaac “Chair” Kaliati, one of the club’s most celebrated players.
The 2024 TNM Super League Golden Boot winner has committed his future to Wanderers until December 2027, reinforcing the club’s attacking ambitions.
Kaliati, who joined Mighty Wanderers FC in 2015 from Tigers FC, continues to be a central figure in the club’s plans as they look to defend their league crown and compete strongly in upcoming seasons.
