By Morris Nor// The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that a formal petition has been filed against social media commentator Justadetoun following her recent public outburst against the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

According to the police, Justadetoun has been officially invited to report at the police station for questioning over statements made in a viral video and online posts. The Command disclosed that the invitation followed complaints alleging that her remarks went beyond criticism and crossed into abusive and defamatory language.

In her outburst, Justadetoun openly accused Governor Abiodun of poor governance and misplaced priorities, claiming that the governor focuses more on partying and personal lifestyle while critical sectors of the state remain neglected. She further alleged mismanagement of state funds and made claims of personal misconduct, assertions that have sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms.

One of the most controversial points in her criticism was the allegation that Ogun State reportedly lacks even a single functional ambulance, a claim that intensified public debate and drew the attention of authorities.

While the police emphasized that citizens have the constitutional right to free speech and constructive criticism, they also stressed that such expressions must be done within the confines of the law, without resorting to insults, false allegations, or statements capable of inciting public unrest.

The Command assured the public that the matter will be handled professionally and fairly, urging residents to remain calm and allow due process to take its course.

As reactions continue to trail the development, many Nigerians are once again debating the thin line between activism, free speech, and defamation, especially in the age of social media.
