IGP EGBETOKUN PROMOTES POPULAR MUSIC ARTIST AND POLICE AMBASSADOR, KOREDE BELLO TO HONORARY CSP

By Olayiwiola Ibrahim // The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved the promotion of popular music artist and Nigeria Police Ambassador, Koréde Bellø, to the rank of Honorary Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

The honorary promotion recognises Koréde Bellø’s consistent support for the Nigeria Police Force, his positive use of music for public enlightenment, and his contributions to strengthening police–community relations, especially among young people.

As part of the event, Koréde Bellø thrilled the audience with a live performance on stage, featuring the Lagos State Police Command’s newly launched Police Band equipment, showcasing a renewed commitment to modernisation, professionalism, and improved public engagement through music and culture.

The colourful ceremony attracted senior police officers, stakeholders, and members of the public, highlighting the Nigeria Police Force’s evolving approach to community policing, youth engagement, and image-building initiatives.

The Force leadership reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with creative industry stakeholders to promote positive values, peaceful coexistence, and public trust, noting that strategic collaborations such as this play a vital role in enhancing public confidence in policing.

The promotion of Koréde Bellø as an Honorary CSP reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s recognition of impactful civic contributions beyond conventional law enforcement, reinforcing the belief that security is a collective responsibility.
