According to report, Comrade Olayiwiola Ibrahim has uncovered a disturbing scene at the Agege train station in Lagos, where teenagers as young as 15, 17, 20 years and above are openly peddling and using drugs within the station premises.
Our investigative journalist, went undercover while boarding the inter state train ride to Ibadan on 21st, March 2026 and witnessed the brazen activities of these young drug peddlers.
According to eyewitnesses, the youths, mostly between 15-17 years old, have turned the station into a hub for touting and drug dealing, with some even boasting of protection from railway staff.
This does not only posses a significant threat to the safety and security of the passengers but also exposes young children who use the train daily to a corrupting influence.
The presence of this young peddlers and touts at the station is a stake reminder of the need for increased vigilance and effective law enforcement.
This is a ticking time bomb. If nothing is done, we’ll soon have a generation lost to drugs, said a concerned passenger.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation, Lagos State Police, and NDLEA have been alerted to the situation, with calls for immediate action to curb the menace and ensure accountability.
Comrade Olayiwiola Ibrahim urged the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu and the offices of the above concerned authorities to take swift and decisive action to address the issues.
The journalist also called for increased patrols and surveillance at the Agege train station.
