LAGOS POLICE COMMAND RECORDS MAJOR CRIME CRACKDOWNS UNDER CP TIJANI OLAYIWOLA FATAI

Speaking at a press briefing, Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Olayiwola Fatai highlighted achievements since assuming office.

Key successes include:

– 47 suspects arrested.

– 14 firearms recovered (10 locally-made, 4 pump-action.

– 96 rounds of 5.2mm ammunition seized.

– 29 live cartridges and 1 expended cartridge recovered.

– 14 vehicles, 2 laptops, 29 phones, 1 flash drive seized.

Notable cases involve:

– Arrest of Jamiu Yahaya, aka “Elesin”, for armed robbery and possession of a locally-made pistol.

– Arrest of Sunday Daniel for cultism and possession of a firearm.

– Dismantling a cult group with 21 suspects arrested at Ajao Estate.

– Foiling a ransom demand plot with arrest of Israel Osanwuta.

– Arrest of car theft syndicates with recovery of Toyota Sienna and Camry vehicles.

– Recovery of stolen vehicles, including Lexus ES350, RX300, and RX330 models.

– Arrest of a serial fraudster involved in ₦130 million scam.

– Arrest of Ayoola Solomon for possessing stolen phones.

– Arrest of Ogundipe Emmanuel for armed robbery and possession of a firearm

The Command also ensured peaceful Easter celebrations with no major security breaches.

CP Fatai assured Lagosians of continued efforts to curb crime, urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with the Police.

The public is encouraged to report suspicious activities to the Lagos State Police Command.

In his keynotes, he emphasized that the command remains resolute and unwavering in its commitment to safety and security of all residents.

Stating that the force will continue to intensify more efforts on intelligence driven operations and also to sustain visibility policing to strengthen community engagement to ensure that Lagos remains a safer place and secure environment for all.
