By Olayiwola Ibrahim // The management of Ejalonibu Exponential, under the leadership of Convener Ejalonibu Abeke, proudly presents the vision and mission behind the Omo Yoruba Nimi Cultural Contest (OYNM_CC), a transformational cultural initiative established to rekindle the love, pride, and active participation of younger generations in Yoruba heritage and identity.

OYNM_CC was born out of a deep passion to preserve, promote, and modernize the beauty of Yoruba culture through educational and creative engagement among secondary school students.

The initiative is strategically designed to redirect the interests of younger generations toward the richness and value of Yoruba culture, especially in the areas of Yoruba language speaking and writing, traditional handcraft skills, indigenous talents, and cultural entertainment.

The contest also seeks to expose young adults to future professional paths rooted in culture and creativity.

Through this initiative, students are encouraged to see culture not merely as tradition, but as a meaningful tool for self development, career building, identity preservation, and societal contribution.

According to Convener Ejalonibu Abeke, the vision behind OYNMCC is to build a lasting cultural legacy by raising a generation that will genuinely love Yoruba culture and confidently grow into professionals, entrepreneurs, creators, and cultural ambassadors through traditional handcraft skills and cultural entertainment such as chanting, dancing, drumming, storytelling, poetry, and indigenous performances.

The journey so far has been both eye-opening and highly inspiring.

What began as a book sharing outreach across several local government secondary schools has gradually evolved into a broader cultural movement aimed at restoring pride in indigenous identity among young people.

The experience gathered from interacting with students, teachers, and communities has further strengthened the organization’s resolve to continue investing in cultural education and youth development.

Speaking on the Next Phase of Omo Yoruba Culture Clubs, as part of its next phase, OYNM_CC is currently advancing plans toward the establishment of Omo Yoruba Culture Clubs within schools.

These clubs will serve as learning and creative hubs where students can freely explore, develop, and exhibit their talents across the three major categories of the contest: Yoruba language and literacy, traditional handcraft, and cultural entertainment.

The initiative believes that cultural preservation becomes more sustainable when young people are actively involved, creatively empowered, and socially celebrated.

OYNM_CC therefore stands not just as a contest, but as a movement for cultural rebirth, youth empowerment, and identity restoration.

The organization appreciates all institutions, partners, schools, stakeholders, and cultural enthusiasts who have continued to support and believe in the vision of this noble project.

We are calling on corporate bodies, government agencies, traditional institutions, and well-meaning individuals to partner with us in expanding the reach of OYNM_CC.

Together, we can raise a generation that proudly understands its roots while confidently shaping the future.
