By Femi Ajimuda /ABUJA// Prince Monday Akinyomi, a U.S-based development expert and son of the soil, has officially picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to contest for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Speaking after obtaining his form at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, Akinyomi said his decision was driven by “compassion, not ambition.”
Ilaje/Ese-Odo is the only oil-producing federal constituency in the entire South West. Yet, our people live in crushing poverty. Sea incursion is swallowing our communities. Our youths have no jobs. Our women have no empowerment. This is unacceptable’, Akinyomi declared.
WHY I’M RUNNING:
1. End the Neglect: The present representation has failed. Despite producing oil for Nigeria, our constituency lacks federal presence, projects, and opportunities.
2. Tackle Sea Incursion: I will use my international network to secure federal intervention and global partnerships to save our coastline communities from extinction.
3 Jobs & Empowerment: My focus is massive employment for youths and structured empowerment for women through federal programs and private sector alliances.
4. Bring Federal Projects Home: With my training and exposure in the U.S, I will attract the attention of the Federal Government to Ilaje/Ese-Odo. We will not be forgotten again.
I am a youth who has seen how systems work abroad. I know what good governance looks like. I am not coming to Abuja to learn — I am coming to deliver, he stated.
Akinyomi emphasized that his experience working in development sectors in the United States has equipped him with the network, capacity, and competence to change the destiny of Ilaje/Ese-Odo.
“Our people deserve more than handouts during elections. They deserve a voice that works 365 days. I have what it takes, and I am ready to serve,” he added.
He called on APC members and the good people of Ilaje/Ese-Odo to support his aspiration, promising accountable, visible, and compassionate representation.
The era of absentee representation is over. Ilaje/Ese-Odo must rise. And it starts now.
