AN OPEN APPEAL TO HIS EXCELLENCY, ALHAJI AHMED USMAN ODODO, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE, AND ALL DISTINGUISHED APC STAKEHOLDERS IN KOGI STATE

Your Excellency Sir,

With utmost respect, loyalty, and deep faith in your sense of justice and fairness, we write this passionate appeal not merely as politicians, but as concerned sons and daughters of Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency whose voices have remained unheard for over two decades in the political equation of Kogi West Senatorial District.

This appeal is born from pain, patience, hope, and an unshaken belief that your administration represents equity, inclusion, and justice for all.

For over twenty years, the Lokoja/Koto axis has remained politically marginalized in the struggle for the Kogi West Senatorial seat. While other constituencies have repeatedly occupied the position and enjoyed the opportunities, influence, and development that come with it, Lokoja/Koto has consistently been asked to wait, endure, and sacrifice for party unity.

We have waited.

We have remained loyal.

We have stood firmly with the APC through difficult times.

We have delivered votes.

We have defended the party structure.

Yet, our loyalty has not translated into fair political consideration.

Your Excellency, justice delayed for twenty years is justice denied.

The conscience of every fair-minded stakeholder in Kogi State must answer one sincere question:

How long should Lokoja/Koto continue to remain spectators in a senatorial district they helped build politically?

The agitation for the Kogi West Senate seat to come to Lokoja/Koto in 2027 is not a selfish demand. It is a moral call for balance, fairness, and political inclusion. Democracy thrives when every segment of society feels represented. Exclusion breeds discouragement, political apathy, and disunity.

The APC under your leadership has consistently preached unity and fairness. This is the moment to prove to the people that those principles are not mere political slogans but living realities.

Your Excellency, history has presented you with a rare opportunity to heal a long-standing political wound and write your name in gold as the leader who restored fairness and gave hope to an excluded people.

Lokoja/Koto is not lacking in capacity, competence, or credible personalities. What has been lacking is political opportunity.

Today, the people seek not domination, but inclusion.

Not entitlement, but fairness.

Not conflict, but recognition.

The Senate seat of Kogi West belongs to all the component parts of the district, not to a permanent political circle. Rotational justice is the foundation of lasting peace and political stability.

As the leader of the APC in Kogi State, Your Excellency possesses the moral authority to guide the party toward equity and fairness. Posterity will remember those who stood for justice when it mattered most.

We therefore passionately appeal to you and all APC stakeholders across Kogi State to support the emergence of a candidate from Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency for the Kogi West Senatorial election in 2027.

This singular decision will:

• Strengthen unity within the party.

• Restore confidence among marginalized supporters.

• Promote fairness and inclusion.

• Deepen the democratic spirit of equal representation.

• Cement your legacy as a leader for all.

The cries of Lokoja/Koto are not cries of rebellion; they are cries for justice.

And justice, when finally done, strengthens the bond between leadership and the people.

May fairness prevail.

May equity speak louder than political interests.

And may history remember this moment kindly.

Long live Kogi State.

Long live APC.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed,

Concerned Stakeholders and Supporters of Equity in Kogi West
