FG Makes HR Certification Mandatory For Civil Servants Ahead Of 2027 Deadline
The Federal Government has directed all civil servants seeking deployment into Human Resource (HR) roles to obtain professional HR certification from approved local or international bodies before May 2027.
The directive, issued by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation under Mrs. Esther, is part of efforts to professionalise HR practice across the federal civil service.
Affected officers have been given a 12-month grace period to secure certifications from recognised bodies including CIPM Nigeria, CIPD UK, SHRM USA, HRCI USA, and CPHR Canada.
According to the circular, officers without the approved certification may no longer qualify for deployment into HR-related positions after the deadline.
The directive takes immediate effect.
