The dispute surrounding a parcel of land located behind Jaye Filling Station along Ikirun Road, Osogbo, has taken a fresh turn despite reports that the property is already a judgment land.

One of the sons of late Gafar Ateere alias SOMINIE, who had earlier petitioned Barrister Lekan Alabi, Mr. Najeem, and Lawrence Dada to the Commissioner of Police in Osun State over activities on the land, is now alleged to be relying on the support of the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, led by Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, alongside the Zonal Commandant, to assert control over the property.

Sources alleged that after previous efforts to use soldiers and police officers failed, civil defence officers were deployed to the land and have remained there since Monday, fully armed. Their continued presence on the property has further heightened tension, especially given claims that the land is already subject to a valid court judgment.

It was further gathered that during the operation on the land, the civil defence officers handcuffed one Ibrahim Rafiu. The circumstances surrounding his arrest, however, remain unclear.

As of the time of filing this report, Barrister Lekan Alabi was said to have visited the NSCDC office to ascertain the whereabouts of Ibrahim Rafiu, but officials reportedly could not give a clear account of where the arrested man was being held.

The latest development has raised serious concerns among residents and stakeholders, with many questioning the involvement of security agencies in a land matter that is said to have already been determined by the court. Calls are now mounting for the relevant authorities to intervene, ensure compliance with the judgment, and prevent any further abuse of power or breakdown of law and order in the area.
