Danladi Restores Hope, Donates Mobility Motorcycle to Physically Challenged Ilorin Resident Whose Motorcycle Was Stolen
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for Kwara State, Danladi Salihu Rt.Hon.Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has reaffirmed his commitment to compassionate and inclusive leadership by donating a new mobility motorcycle to a physically challenged resident of Ilorin, Alhaji Yuzuf Amuda Jamiu Kokorokan, whose only means of movement was recently destroyed after being stolen and dismantled by criminals.
Alhaji Amuda, a resident of Kokorokan Compound in Isale Aluko, Alanamu Ward of Ilorin West, had depended entirely on his three-wheeled motorcycle for mobility until it was stolen a few weeks ago. Although the police eventually apprehended the suspect responsible for the theft, investigations revealed that the motorcycle had already been dismantled into parts with the intention of selling them individually. The damage was so extensive that the motorcycle could no longer be repaired, leaving the beneficiary confined to his home with no means of transportation.
Touched by the unfortunate development, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Salihu Danladi immediately approved the donation of a mobility motorcycle to restore the man’s freedom of movement. The gesture was delivered through the APC Candidate for Ajikobi/Alanamu State Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Bolaji Sholagberu who presented the motorcycle on behalf of the governorship candidate. To ensure the motorcycle was fully adapted for the beneficiary’s use, Danladi also provided ₦100,000 to cover the cost of installing the third wheel required for the mobility tricycle.
Presenting the donation, Hon. Sholagberu described the intervention as another reflection of Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi’s compassionate disposition and unwavering concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens, particularly vulnerable members of society. He noted that true leadership is measured by the ability to respond to the needs of the people, especially in difficult moments, adding that the APC remains committed to building a Kwara where no one is left behind.
An overwhelmed Alhaji Yuzuf Amuda Jamiu kokorokan expressed profound gratitude to Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi and Hon. Sholagberu for coming to his aid when hope seemed lost. He said the donation had restored not only his mobility but also his dignity and confidence. Offering fervent prayers, he asked Almighty Allah to bless both leaders with good health, greater wisdom and success in all their endeavours.
Residents of Isale Aluko and members of the community who witnessed the presentation commended the timely intervention, describing it as a practical demonstration of empathy and responsive leadership. They noted that the gesture has brought renewed hope to the beneficiary and serves as a reminder that genuine leadership is defined by compassion, kindness and a readiness to uplift those in need.
