Kidnappers Demand N200 Million Ransom to free Abducted Kebbi High Court Judge
Kidnappers holding Kebbi High Court Judge Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza have demanded N200 million ransom from family.
Kebbi Police Commissioner Umar Muhammad Hadejia disclosed Monday in Birnin Kebbi that police got intelligence on demand after swift response to Sunday early hours abduction at residence along Zogirma Road in Bunza.
According to CP, Command deployed combined operatives to comb escape routes and mounted multiple checkpoints along strategic routes.
He said judge’s family informed police that he frequently travelled at night despite warnings and that kidnappers contacted registrar of High Court in Abuja regarding negotiations over N200m.
Commissioner expressed confidence rescue would succeed and also confirmed killing of suspected kidnapper Abdulaziz Dogo and arrest of Ibrahim Abdulwahab, both of Ilesha Kwara, over abduction of former Deputy Speaker Muhammad Samaila Bagudo on Oct 31 2025.
