SHETTIMA EMPOWERS NORTH EAST YOUTH
The City Boy Movement yesterday flagged off a major empowerment program for youths across the North East geopolitical zone, with 1,749 beneficiaries set to receive various empowerment items.
The distribution ceremony held in Maiduguri was led by the National Co-Patron of the Movement, Shettima Kashim Shettima (Amir).
Items flagged off for distribution include:
Keke Napep, Refrigerators, Solar Panels, Kiosks, Wheelchairs, and Sewing Machines.
The program commenced with a welcoming address by Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, the Executive Director Technical Services of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) and the North East Zonal Director, Youth Mobilization of the APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. He welcomed dignitaries, beneficiaries and stakeholders to the empowerment program and described it as a landmark initiative for the region.
Speaking at the event, Shettima Kashim Shettima commended the resilience and commitment of North East youths towards supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima. He described the program as the first phase of a wider empowerment initiative that will cut across the country.
“This is just the beginning,” he said. “The City Boy Movement is committed to ensuring that young people in the North East and beyond are given the tools they need to be self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to nation building.”
The Director General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, also commended the National Co-Patron for the initiative. He noted that the empowerment drive reflects the Movement’s dedication to practical youth development and service delivery across the North East.
Also speaking, the Borno State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sainna Buba said the empowerment aligns with the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda and assured that more dividends of democracy are on the way for the people of Borno and the North East.
Representing the Borno State Governor, the Chief of Staff to the Governor commended the National Co-Patron for the bold initiative to empower North East youths. He noted that the gesture will go a long way in reducing unemployment and strengthening livelihoods in the region.
The items allocated to Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe State have already departed Maiduguri for onward delivery to beneficiaries in those states.
Beneficiaries at the event expressed joy over the support, describing it as “the first of its kind” and thanked the City Boy Movement and its leadership for remembering the youths of the North East.
The City Boy Movement reaffirms its commitment to the ideals of Empowering the Youth, Building the Future, and Strengthening the North East.
