By Olayiwola Ibrahim // The Environmental Lagos Platform has announced the launch of Waldo – a unique Fitness Walk and Blood Donation initiative aimed at ensuring blood availability in Lagos hospitals.

Environmental Lagos Platform (ELP) is a WhatsApp Government-Citizens group that serves as a social bridge, improving government service-delivery and acting as an information conduit that channels interventions to precise points of need.

WalDo is one of ELP’s humanitarian initiatives designed to make Lagos a better place.

In partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service, the initiative is focused on saving and preserving lives by ensuring on-demand availability of blood in hospitals and making it more affordable.

The event is scheduled to hold by 9am on November 18, 2026 at Alausa, Ikeja, starting with an awareness walk and culminating in a blood donation exercise.

The program will feature social networking, rewards for participants, health talks, trade opportunities and many more exciting activities.

According to the organizers, “The human resource is the most important resource, and every effort must be made to save and nurture a life.

Life is in the blood.

WalDo is not just a walk; it is an opportunity to learn about health matters in Lagos State, improve your fitness, and be nobly counted as your neighbour’s keeper by donating blood.

As the organizers noted, “There is a child, a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a friend out there that you might be saving when you donate blood.

Be part of WalDo.
