Kamal Ajalogun, the Director General of Team SOB 2019, said the good people of Ikorodu deserve to be appreciated for choosing wisely and endorsing the continuation of progressive representation even when they have numerous other qualified persons to choose from. He urged them all to look beyond the primaries and focus on the general election.
The Majority Leader appreciated the rare opportunity given him by his constituents and party leaders to seek the mandate of the voters for a record 4th term on the platform of the ruling party, saying the wonderful people of Ikorodu are his ‘destiny helpers.’
“My good people of Ikorodu,
I have always held the view that a man’s portion in life is pre-determined and released from the high heavens; but handed over to the beneficiaries through his fellow humans. These humans are the agents we all  prefer to address as “destiny helpers”.
“You are one of my destiny helpers through whom the grace of God visited me in the last House of Assembly primary election and bestowed on me once again, the ticket of our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) thereby making me it’s flag – bearer for the February 2019 general elections.
“I am neither the most intelligent nor the most competent amongst the various talented individuals who aspired to represent Ikorodu constituency 1, in the House of Assembly, but I deem myself simply ordained by God and elected by the people in the last primary election. For this, I am very humbled and grateful.
Recalling some events before, during and after the APC primary elections, the lawmakers sued for understanding from aspirants and their supporters, saying it is God who crowns efforts and give positions. He promised to be the representative of all and not just a group.
“As a beneficiary of your mandate and trust, I promise to continue to justify the mandate and trust you have graciously reposed in me over the years. God being my strength and his grace being my armour, I will not let you down.
“Now that we are close to the general elections in February 2019, I want to enjoin you to please leave no stone unturned in this struggle to achieve total victory for all the candidates of our party (APC) in the general election.
“It is in the light of the foregoing that I will like to appeal to you and through you to other sons and daughters of Ikorodu, to look beyond the frictions of the primary elections. Ikorodu is bigger than all of us and we can’t get it wrong if we do it right.
Urging party members to close ranks and support all party candidates in the 2019 elections, Agunbiade confirmed the candidacies of President Muhammadu Buhari for President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo for Vice President, Jide  Sanwoolu for Governor, Bayo Osinowo (Pepper) for Senate, Jimi Benson for Reps and himself, SOB Agunbiade for House of Assembly.
“To all my teeming supporters and admirers, I plead that we show more magnanimity in our relationship with others and allow electoral wounds (if any) to heal faster.
“I appeal to supporters from  all camps to assist contestants in the primary elections to reunite fast, we cannot continue to fan the embers of disunity and expect our constituency to grow and develop politically.
“To all that voted in the primary, whether for or against me, I commend you for coming out to vote. We are one and shall remain together in progress and in grace.
“Let us all go out as loyal party members and work for President Muhammadu Buhari for President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo for Vice President, Jide  Sanwoolu for Governor, Bayo Osinowo (Pepper) for Senate, Jimi Benson for Reps and myself, SOB Agunbiade for House of Assembly,” he said.
