Amaechi Visits GOC 6 Division, Rivers CP, Ahead Of Elections

Former Rivers State governor and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s desperation and determination to cause chaos in the State during Saturday Governorship and State Assembly elections may have reached crescendo as revealed by his actions as the clock ticks closer to the D-day.

As part of his effort to make real his promise to deal with Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Amaechi is said to have visited the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major-General Jamil Sarham as well as Rivers Police Commissioner, Usman Belel, apparently to put finishing touches to his secretly devised plots.

Sources said after meeting with the GOC at the Bori Camp Thursday morning, Amaechi was also seen driving into Sarham’s residence at the Old GRA later in the afternoon.

Prior to the meeting with the GOC whose romance with the APC has become a source of concern to Rivers people, Amaechi was said to have also visited CP Belel at his office in Moscow Road where they had ‘very fruitful discussions’, according to sources.

This secret meetings with the military and police chiefs in Rivers State comes on the heels of Amaechi’s mischievous adoption of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the Rivers guber election on Saturday, an action that was vehemently refuted by the national secretariat of the AAC in Abuja, an hour after Amaechi made the unpopular declaration.

This medium calls on security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to keep to its promise to conduct a free, fair and credible Governorship and State Assembly polls on Saturday.
