Chakwera Returns Home from UAE Visit

President Lazarus Chakwera has arrived back in Malawi following his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The President was invited by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss government-to-government fuel procurement and bilateral talks.

During his visit, President Chakwera engaged in discussions with various UAE government officials, including the Chief Executive Officer for the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

The President also took the opportunity to promote Malawi’s ‘Agriculture, Tourism and Mining’ (ATM) strategy to the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

Upon his arrival, President Chakwera was welcomed by several high-ranking officials, including Minister of Trade Sosten Gwengwe, Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, and Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale.

Speaking to the throng of people at Kamuzu Airport, Chakwera expressed optimism that his visit would yield positive results, stating that things will change due to the business he conducted in the UAE.

He said the visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between Malawi and the UAE, with potential investments in various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, and mining.

The President’s visit has sparked hope for improved economic cooperation and development between the two nations.
