IGP Reassigns Six Newly Appointed DIGs to Key Police Departments

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the posting of six newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) and one Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) to strategic departments and formations within the Nigeria Police Force.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the postings aim to optimize the officers’ expertise, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen the Force’s capacity to tackle evolving security challenges.
According to the statement:
– DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar has been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
– DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo, fdc. will now head the Force Intelligence Department (FID).
– DIG Williams Adebowale, fdc. takes charge of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
– DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi, mni. assumes leadership of the Department of Operations (DOPs).
– DIG Adebola Ayinde Hamzat has been assigned to the Department of Logistics and Supply (DLS).
– DIG Idegwu Basil Okuoma will oversee the Department of Research and Planning (R&P).
Additionally, DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya has been reassigned as the DIG in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA).
The IGP emphasized that the new appointments are in line with his vision to reposition the Nigeria Police Force for enhanced service delivery and effective policing across the country.
